Upon payment of dues you will officially become a Provisional member of the Junior League of Indian River (JLIR)!

What is Provisional membership?
A Provisional member (aka Provisional) is a new member engaged in a period of training focused on developing a greater understanding of the Junior League of Indian River (JLIR), becoming acquainted with JLIR members, attending General Membership Meetings (GMMs), participating on a JLIR committee (membership, marketing & communications or community impact), volunteering at JLIR community impact events and having fun. This process prepares Provisional members for their future as Active members of the League. Upon completion of the training period, you will officially become an Active member.
What is Provisional membership training?
Typically, JLIR conducts a “Super Saturday” training session. Super Saturdays condense provisional training into a 3-4 hour event which is often followed by a fundraising or community impact (volunteer) event that is open to all Junior League members. In provisional training, you will have an opportunity to learn about the history of the League, mix & mingle with Actives and Sustainers, learn how our League operates, and develop an understanding of how you can become more involved in the League – both as a participant and as a leader.
This year we are planning to host a Super Saturday once in the fall and once in the spring. If you are unable to attend the Super Saturday immediately following your dues payment, you will be automatically invited to the next Super Saturday. If you are unable to attend any of the Super Saturday sessions this League Year, our Membership Chair will work with you to develop a plan for your training completion.
What are the JLIR Attendance Expectations (Actives & Provisionals):
- Attendance at General Membership Meetings
- GMMs are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month 5:30-7:00 PM from Sept – May
- You may attend in-person or virtually
- Absence may be excused at the discretion of the President (e.g. prior commitments, work, vacation, etc.)
- Active participation in a JLIR committee
- Participation in JLIR community impact projects, fundraising activities and social events

What Committees does JLIR have & what do they do?
- Membership Development Committee – responsible for recruiting members and the day-to-day operations related to our members’ League experience. Key activities/responsibilities include: recruitment, retention, Provisional experience, transfers, socials, and trainings.
- Marketing & Communications Committee – responsible for all internal and external communication for the League. Key activities/responsibilities include: social media, press, publications, graphics, website, public relations, sponsorship & fundraising.
- Community Impact Committee – responsible for forming and maintaining community partnerships within our community project areas. Key activities/responsibilities include: operational logistics and delivery of the annual Holiday Party for Communities Connected for Kids, coordination of volunteer events with local non-profit organizations.
What are the eligibility requirements to become a member of JLIR?
- Must be 21 years of age or older (no maximum age)
- Must reside in Indian River County or an adjacent county not served by another Junior League chapter
What are the membership dues?
- Provisional Member Dues are $170, which consists of:
- Annual Membership Dues: $145.00
- Non-Refundable Application Fee: $25.00 (one time fee)
- Payment of Provisional Member Dues covers the entire 26-27 League Year.
- Optional events may have additional event registration fees.
- Annual Membership Dues for the 2026-27 League Year are due by June 1, 2026.

- You meet the eligibility requirements for membership in JLIR.
- The personal contact information (name, address, phone, email, emergency contact, etc.) provided during this transaction will be used in the JLIR membership directory. The JLIR membership directory may only be accessed by members of JLIR. You may edit your information at any time.
- You understand that you may be photographed, filmed, or recorded during JLIR activities, and you grant permission for those materials to be used in JLIR communications, promotions, or media.
